The Daughters of St Paul launched the "Book Reading Festival" whereby 50 people could go to the St Paul Media Centre and choose a book they felt suitable for them, with an undertaking of writing a response to their book. Each book was a gift from the sisters to celebrate the Centenary of their congregation’s foundation date: 1915-2015.
The objective of the festival was to encourage people to read and discover the message of the Holy Spirit in their everyday lives, and then to share their joy with others and renew their faith.
30 readers who took part in this Festival. Three winners were selected. They were:
Charles Leung responding on his book NOW THAT YOU’VE GONE HOME
Carol Lau on her book 寬恕,不再是包袱 - 從原諒自己開始
Karen Lee on her book 走出你的哀慟
Their prizes were some Book Coupons from the St Paul Media Centre in Pioneer Centre, Mongkok. The Awarding ceremony was held on Saturday Oct 17, 2015 at the convent of the Daughters of St Paul in Shatin, which coincided with the monthly meeting of the Association of Pauline Cooperators. In a light-hearted and friendly atmosphere, the winners and the APCs shared ideas and food.
Featured below are the responses of 18 of these readers. Books marked with an asterisk (*) include both English and Chinese versions of the reflection.
