We announce our new Superior General:
Sr. Anna Maria was born in Trieste, Italy, on 26 January 1946. She made her first profession in Alba on 29 June 1972. After obtaining a teacher’s degree, she received a Bachelor’s Degree in Theology from the Interregional Faculty of Theology in Milan. She speaks Italian and French and is also familiar with English and Spanish.
From 1989 to 2001, she served as Secretary General of our Institute, followed by two terms of office as General Councilor in charge of spirituality (2001-2013). During her second term, she also served as the Institute’s Vicar General.
Sr Anna Maria Parenzan is the 6th Superior General of our Institute, the first being the Co-Foundress, Sr Thecla Merlo. The Daughters of St Paul was founded in 1915 in Italy.
The General Chapter of the DAUGHTERS OF ST PAUL, from 15 August to 15 September 2013 has now almost reached its conclusion. The most important event is the election of the new Government for the Institute.
The names of our new General Councilors who form the new Leadership Team of the Daughters of St Paul with the Superior General: Sr Anna Maria Parenzan are: -
ANDERSON Sr. KAREN MARIE: American, born 18th August 1960, was vicar and councilor for formation in the United States / Canada Province.
CAIAZZA Sr. ANNA: Italian, born 24 th July 1952, was councilor for communications in the preceding General Government (2007-2013).
GIRONI Sr. MARIA SAMUELA: Italian, born 2nd September 1942, was councilor for formation in the preceding General Government (2007-2013).
KIM Sr. MARIA LUCIA: Korean, born 1st November 1965, was coordinator of the creative sector in the Korean Province.
RUBIA Sr. SHALIMAR: Filipino, born 26th June 1966, was councilor for the apostolate in the Philippines-Malaysia-Papua N.G.-Thailand Province.
WISNIEWSKI Sr. CLARICE JOSEFA: Brazilian, born 4th March 1960, was vicar and councilor for formation, studies and spirituality in the Brazilian Province.
