DAILY WORD of BLESSED JAMES ALBERIONE 2023

To commemorate the 50th anniversary of the death of our founder, Blessed James Alberione, we will reflect on his words and use them as our daily guide.

PRAYER INTENTION for SEPTEMBER

The profession of the religious is the profession of eternal and perfect love for Jesus Christ, so that strength, intelligence, sentiment are always and only addressed to God(Pr 1, 158).

Jesus proposes to us his doctrine not only when he teaches the virtues, but especially when he practices them. He knew well that men learn more from examples than from words (Pr 1, 68-69).

Hail, O Mary, our Mother, Teacher and Queen. At the foot of the cross, your heart expanded to welcome us all as children. Obtain for us an apostolic heart, modelled on your heart, on that of Jesus and of St Paul; so that one day we can all be, apostles and faithful, around you in heaven. Bless your children, O Mary, Teacher and Queen.

Sometimes external defects are feared, one is afraid of making a bad impression in front of men; is one afraid ofa stain on the face, and how about the soul? How many take more care of their esteem before men, more care of their health, than to be beautiful and grateful to God! (Pr2, 94).

There is no other solution, for all the questions that are stirred up even today among men, than this: «Instaurare omnia in Christo». To live Jesus Christ, to make Jesus Christ live again in the midst of men (Pr 5, 28).

In these days, we still collect from the offering of Jesus, the Mother. «Behold your Mother». John took her with him. And we accept this divine Mother from Jesus, and we promise to get to know her better, meditating on her privileges, graces and virtues. Let us try to imitate her, to love her and to pray to her always the better (Pr 5, 7).

Pray so that all will understand how the Pauline life is to live Christianity more integrally; to live it as it wasp reached by the Divine Master Jesus Christ; to live it according to the example of the Most Holy Virgin, penetrate it with the spirit of St Paul (Pr 2, 169).

Our love for Jesus and Mary must be a heartfelt, profound love, and must generate the habitual recourse and frequent invocation throughout the day... May the presence of Jesus be continually felt; may it be done under the gaze of Mary (Pr 5, 10).

Living faith in all verses of the Gospel. Carry Jesus in one’s heart: a great love for Jesus, which overcomes all sacrifices, detachments, disappointments. Then, even if one falls to the ground, one can get up better than before:more prudent, more humble and with purer faith (Pr 5,163).

Before going up to Heaven, as if to give us the last seal, the last proof of love, the Son of God left us Mary as our mother: «Behold your Mother». And the disoriented humanity... every day can gather around the Mother and have light and comfort and salvation (Pr 2, 14).

There are two tendencies in us: one is the celestial tendency, which leads us to follow Jesus, to follow Mary, to follow St Paul; the other is the tendency that takes us faraway, towards freedom, not that of the children of God,but the freedom of those who rebel against God (Pr 5, 56).

Do what we have to do well, as much as possible for our poor humanity. And God will be with us, God will guide us, God will use us in the works of his glory, in the works that will sanctify our souls and that will prepare for us a great treasure of glory in heaven (Pr 5, 32).

When devotion to Mary is deeply rooted in a soul, and when devotion to Mary takes place in the world, then there is a transformation in souls: spiritual, intellectual, vital transformation (Pr 5, 155).

Mary is the model of every virtue. She exercised obedience perfectly; but at the same time, she is a model of faith, hope, charity, purity, prudence, justice, fortitude, temperance, humility: she is the model of every virtue (Pr1, 148).

Know and meditate on Saint Paul in his life, works, Letters; in order to think, reason, speak, operate according to him; and invoke his paternal assistance (ACV, 63).

Jesus on the cross gave us a mother. He had already given everything... the Church, the Sacraments, the Gospel, the Eucharist, Himself. He was left with this great gift to give to us, and he wanted to give it to us in the very last moments of his life, because the memories that are given in death remain more etched in the soul (Pr 5, 168).

«Make Apostles! And give them Mary, the Apostle and the Queen, as their leader». She is the Mother, the leader of the apostles and of every modern apostolate, of which she is the inspiration and protector (Pr 5, 68).

Whoever proposes to reach holiness and, despite the difficulties... always recovers and every day says: «Today I begin», is strong! Those who dedicate themselves to the apostolate and do not look to the right or to the left at the obstacles that stand in the way, but walk, are strong (Pr 2,113).

«Remember that you are a son of God and the Father is waiting for you, so that you may sit at his table and be inebriated in the cup of eternal happiness, in the cup that the angels are satisfied with in paradise» (Pr 1, 25).

Pray that the word of God may produce abundant fruits in our hearts, and we can always draw fruits of holiness from meditations and spiritual readings (Pr 1, 183)

Jesus Christ is Divine Master and the only Master; first of all, because he is the same Truth, the essential and eternal truth: «I am the truth»; He is the Word that the Father generates forever. Then because He is Way and Life. In Christ, the human person has the greatest and supernatural development (ACV, 18).

To immediately understand the beauty of the apostolate of prayer, let us remember that, through this apostolate, we join the same apostolate of Jesus Christ in the Tabernacle, where he continually prays and pleads for humanity (Pr5, 69).

Every act of the day, every prayer, every suffering, all the apostolate, all the study, the same recreation and the same rest, all the spiritual work and all the care we have for our formation, everything can become apostolate, everything can redeem souls (Pr 5, 69).

How beautiful is the propaganda of the Gospel, of the Catechism, of all the books that directly or indirectly lead us to kneel before Jesus Christ Truth (Pr 5, 71).

What matters is not so much «where the person is, but what he thinks». St Paul, between the chains writes: «I am full of consolation, my heart overflows with joy in the midst of all our tribulations» (ACV, 82).

No one can say: I will not give such a good example, but at least I will not be a scandal. It is not possible: our conduct makes an impression on others. Even doing nothing is already a scandal, because we must do good (Pr 5, 75).

The Church is the house of God. The Church is the door of heaven. The Church is the place of prayer. To these three titles correspond our three duties towards the Church: the Church must be loved, respected, helped (Pr5, 106-107).

Preach by example as Jesus did: thirty years of domestic virtue and then for three years he preached... We value activity and we value knowledge, but we see that a truly holy, perfect, virtuous man does greater good to souls than many active and educated men (Pr 5, 77).

The apostolate of good example... takes place without thinking about it; that is, by doing well: good works will be seen. Let us take care to behave well everywhere, and then the people will be edified, the companions will be edified (Pr 5, 76).

Charity always begins with ourselves: if we do not love our soul, will we be able to love that of our brothers? And if we do not want to reach holiness for ourselves with all our commitment, will we be able to achieve or aspire to achieve holiness for others? (Pr 5, 90-91).
