DAILY WORD of BLESSED JAMES ALBERIONE 2023

To commemorate the 50th anniversary of the death of our founder, Blessed James Alberione, we will reflect on his words and use them as our daily guide.

PRAYER INTENTION for OCTOBER

The consoling Angel. In every painful occasion of life, we can turn to the Angels: even though all men abandon us, even though no one knows our internal struggles, there is the Angel next to us, who watches, assists, prays, comforts, listens (Pr 1, 140).

October is the month of the Rosary: and it is good to start it this morning with St Joseph. We intend to ask St Joseph for a holy death, then a holy life that prepares us for a holy death; we intend to pray for all the dying, for all the souls who will pass into eternity in this month.

(Pr 1, 131).

My Guardian Angel, who always contemplates the Lord and who wants me to be your fellow citizen in heaven, I beg you to obtain forgiveness from the Lord, because many times I have been deaf to your advice, I have sinned in your presence and I remember so little that you are always close to me.

October, the month in which we will particularly practice the devotion of the Rosary, to obtain God’s blessings on the editorial apostolate, on the technical apostolate and on the propaganda apostolate: may everything be sanctified; may everything obtain the greatest fruit for our souls (Pr 1, 131).

Continue, O Mary, from heaven your apostolate of giving Jesus to the world: Way, Truth and Life. Many nations are poor because they lack Jesus Christ. New generations face life ahead of them. The world will be saved only if it welcomes Jesus as he is: his entire doctrine, his entire liturgy.

(Pr 5, 118).

The first homage to the Divine Master lies in doing things with the head. In every meritorious human action, body, heart, will and mind concur. That is to do the works with love, engaging the energies with intelligence. The mind is first (ACV, 85).

The beatitude is the completion of being; our being belongs to God. Therefore the beatitude will be in resting, making ourselves uniform, belonging to God... By this elevation, we are destined to see God face to face, to know him in the way that He knows himself (ACV, 29).

Mary was destined to bring the Saviour Jesus into the world; the Lord wanted to give through her the Truth, the Way and the Life, which is in Jesus Christ... This is Mary’s vocation (Pr 5, 87).

Mind, heart and will united, with roots sunk in the past, with the imagination that makes the future paradise more real than our very existence... Man is what he thinks (ACV, 84).

A deeper piety is gained from a well-done Visit. It is there that we think; it is there that we pray with our words; it is there that we better understand what our purpose is, and we know better the Lord and his will (Pr 2, 20).

The Heavenly Mother prepared with her blood a life-giving bread that is the very body of Jesus Christ: it is the light, the strength, the consolation of the apostles who are waiting for the harvest (Pr 5, 117-118).

Ask Mary for the dispositions for the editing... It requires prudence, love for the truth. Feel the heart full of the truths that are learned, that are studied. Feel a holy fire in the soul. May these souls be saved, may they reach heaven (Pr 5, 135).

Every grace has passed through Mary. Grace, first of all, includes truth. Man must unite himself with God, above all, with his mind. Grace includes eternal life; it includes inner and outer holiness. Everything passed through Mary and therefore also the truth (Pr 5, 132).

From Mary the whole Family hopes; the whole Family turns to Mary... Through Mary, we hope for vocations, and we hope that vocations correspond to the will of God (Pr 5, 121-122).

We trust that those called, with Mary’s assistance... would be light to many souls; may they be salt for the earth and may they be like the city placed on a mountain, which must show men the way of God, the way by which one reaches salvation (Pr 5, 122).

The believing souls adore the Word of God hidden under the appearance of the letter and beg him to enlighten them, to make them understand, taste and practice his teachings... souls come out of this conversation more resolute to follow the One they admire and love (ACV, 67).

All that Mary had was to become an apostle. It is the same motherhood she had that gave us Jesus: it is her apostolate. To continue to give Him to all men, since the incarnate Son of God constituted her as mediator and distributor of grace, therefore of salvation (Pr 5, 140).

Love of God, fervent communions, beautiful Visits to the Blessed Sacrament. Love of neighbour, delicateness, spirit of sociability, a big heart that includes all men, a heart modelled on the Most Holy Hearts of Jesus and Mary (Pr2, 165).

In Narzole... he found children with good qualities of mind and heart. Among them was the pious and intelligent Giuseppe Giaccardo... he cultivated his spiritual life, preparing him for the Pauline Family (AD, 104).

Mary is like a clear sky always illuminated by the divine Sun; and always willing to receive the splendour of its rays and to transmit the light in the minds of those who seek God and salvation (ACV, 44).

How many should remember much more the great good of being born in the Catholic Church, in a good family, of having received a wise, Christian, pious education in the family and in the parish. (Pr 2, 124).

A Gospel full of catechism and liturgy; a catechism full of the Gospel and liturgy; a liturgy full of the Gospel and catechism (Pr 5, 118).

Going to Church is already an act of faith: that there, one believes there is God who listens to us; going to Church is already an exercise of hope: one goes there to obtain graces; going to Church is an act of love for God: whoever loves God seeks him (Pr 5, 110-111).

Do we understand the Pauline mission? It must extend to everything and everyone. It is also the mission of Jesus Christ: «Go into all the world, preach the Gospel to all creatures». Do we practice the apostolate of the edition, prayer, example, works and the word? (Pr 1, 161).

Faced with certain situations, all that remains is prayer: which however is the omnipotence of God placed at the service of humble and confident man. And we always have as mediator, before the Divine Healer, Mary Most Holy. (ACV, 71).

Let us tell Our Lady to turn her merciful eyes on us; let us tell her that she help us to turn our minds and hearts to heaven (RSp, 4).

The Son of God had to teach us the fundamental virtue in life, humility: therefore, being born, he began from this. Without humility, nothing is built; in humility, we find instead our sanctification... Humility makes man dear to God and dear to men (Pr 2, 28).

Let us reflect on ourselves about the greater needs of the soul. Who needs most purity and who needs most humility; who needs most to grow in faith and who, on the other hand, needs most to be strong in his vocation? Come to Church, pray and you will receive (Pr 5, 111).

The vocation is to follow Jesus Master more closely, who is Way, Truth and Life: it is to want to know and make known the truth; it is wanting to imitate and make the virtues of the Divine Master imitated; it is feeling love for prayer and wanting to lead others to prayer as well (RSp, 46).

When we are in Church, Jesus prays with us and us with Him. How happy and consoling this truth is: Jesus prays with us and we pray with Him! And our prayer receives its value precisely from his prayer (Pr 1, 83).

We are like the loudspeakers that repeat what was in God’s creative plan, when we give human knowledge; we become greater loudspeakers when we give the divine knowledge, the one preached to us by Jesus Christ and handed down by the Church, by Tradition (Pr 5, 131).
