PRAYER INTENTION for MARCH
DAILY WORD of BLESSED JAMES ALBERIONE 2021
To commemorate the 50th anniversary of the death of our founder, Blessed James Alberione, we will reflect on his words and use them as our daily guide.
It is always necessary to know how to be tolerant, renounce one’s own views, recognize one’s mistakes, do some courtesy, etc.: all this requires a universal self-denial (UPS IV, 221).
Remember well: pride divides; humility unites because it generates charity. I repeat: pride divides; humility unites because it generates charity (FSP-SdC, p. 79).
Be always humble and, at the same time, constantly progressive;that the Institute may grow in works and persons, and that there may be many saints in the Institute (ACV, p. 214).
Community life is all about joining forces. Don’t think of us individually. Put your strength together, because we are a society, a congregation (FSP59, p. 216).
Why love the neighbour? Because, he’s God’s image. We must pass in front of our brother with the same reverence with which we pass in front of the image of the Holy Trinity. Our neighbour, our brother, represents Jesus Christ to us,and everything we do to our neighbour, Jesus considers it as done to Himself (RSP, p. 129).
The apostolate of the press must be pastoral. It must address all the faculties of man: intelligence, will, and senses, so that they may all be nourished by divine gifts, by God Himself; so that man may be transformed into God (AE, 31).
Ask St. Joseph for the love of Jesus. Yes, love Jesus intensely with all your heart, above all things, as St. Joseph loved him (RSP, p. 446).
Make sure you let me stay with you; don’t cast me out through sin. I am with you, that is to say, with your family, which I wanted, which I cherish, of which I am part, as leader. Don’t hesitate! Even if the difficulties are many, let me be always with you: no sins (AD, 156).
Always think according to faith and sanctify the mind with good thoughts that can be about God and things of God’s service. When you think of the apostolate, that is God’s service, and you sanctify your mind (FSP61*, p. 65).
Humility requires charity. Respect the people next door, think good, desire good, do as much good as you can and speak well of them (FSP59, p. 215).
Our Pauline Families are all pastoral. What does pastoral spirit mean? Pastoral spirit includes a pastoral mentality, pastoral sensitivity, pastoral activity and pastoral zeal (FSP61*, p. 345).
Christ alone lives, thinks, works, loves, desires, prays, suffers, dies and resurrects in us. Head of re-generated humanity, he forms all of believers, a mystical body whose members are closely united by the charity that animates the same life, where only one heart beats, the heart of Jesus Christ (DF,64).
All together... shake hands, help each other, correct each other... do not expect big steps, but every day the will of God; and every day the small victories over us, small acts of virtue: and we will arrive at great holiness (AP 1960, p. 239).
The secret of greatness and wealth is to model oneself on God, living in Christ. Therefore, let the thought of living and working in the Church and for the Church be always clear; of inserting oneself like wild olive trees in the life-giving olive, the Eucharistic Christ; of thinking and nourishing oneself with every sentence of the Gospel (AD, 95).
How many disunited and disorganized will and energies are exhausted in desires, in attempts, in disappointments! It is necessary that all together we prepare the bread of spirit and truth (UPS I, 288).
Unity of spirit. This is the substantial part. The Pauline Family has only one spirituality: to live the Gospel in its entirety...This spirit forms the soul of the Pauline Family (UPS III,187).
This is the essence of the life of the Congregation: putting everything together. Society! It is not just a good name, but a good life! To come together to join forces and make more progress (FSP59, p. 217).
Prayer must also be changed, it must be religious... Everything must be transformed. But then there’s so much to do?Yes, there’s so much to do! We have to put on the new man,the new person (AP 1960, p. 99).
What is the secret of Mary’s greatness? Her adherence to the divine will, shown in the sublime answer: «Ecce ancilla Domini» (APD47, 145).
An apostolate that has no soul is dead; it contributes neither to the life of the one who does it, nor to the life of the one to whom it is addressed. You must realize that the apostolate is from God: it is God who has sent you, who gives you graces (FSP-SdC, p. 450).
Ask for our conversion. We all need to convert into something. All of us (FSP59, p. 43).
O Master, you have words of eternal life: replace my mind, my thoughts, with Yourself. O, You who enlighten every man and are truth itself: I want only to reason as you teach (DF,39).
Let my heart be replaced by yours: let my love for God, for my neighbour, and for myself be replaced by yours... live in me, O Jesus Eternal Life (DF, 40).
Speak, Jesus, speak your words of eternal life; pour out your Spirit on the world; let there be one school, as one is the Truth, one the Master, one the faith, one the Church. You are with us and from here you want to enlighten us; always obtain for us a true sorrow for sins (Prayers of the PF).
Form an organization, but religious one where energies are united, where dedication is total, where doctrine will be purer. An organization of souls who love God with all their mind, their strength, their heart; they offer themselves to work for the Church, content with the divine salary: «You will receive a hundredfold, you will possess eternal life» (AD,24).
If the Bible reading is to bear fruit in souls, they must be guided to read the Holy Book with the living desire to encounter Jesus Christ, the gift of God: read it with humility, faith, prayer, and the desire to change life (AE, 184).
How long does it take to change the mind from Christian to become religious! Because when Jesus called the young man to religious life, Jesus said to him: «If you want to be perfect, leave everything». One must leave everything (AP 1960, p.98).
The strength of a society lies in the practical, profound and sincere unity. And here there is great merit, because this unity is expressed in love for God; while those brothers and sisters with whom one makes the journey to eternity are loved: same profession, life, apostolate, and reward (UPS III, 35).
An ideal is created in the depths of the soul, to which all the faculties converge, faculties that are united in a will, which is strengthened every day: thoughts, imagination, memory, prayer, heart, relationships, study, reading... Everything becomes building material for the great building of personal holiness and the apostolate (ACV, p. 65).
It is not a Communion only of body or only of heart or only of will, but first of all of mind; to unite ourselves with our most noble faculty to the mind of Jesus; to have one mentality with him (ACV, p. 100).
The apostolate presupposes: a profound conviction that we must all contribute to the common good, like the individual members to the whole; have a broad mind that understands the needs of humanity and of individuals (ACV, p. 124).
