DAILY WORD of BLESSED JAMES ALBERIONE 2025
To commemorate the 50th anniversary of the death of our founder, Blessed James Alberione, we will reflect on his words and use them as our daily guide.
PRAYER INTENTION for APRIL
Canon Francesco Chiesa was the godfather of the Pauline Family. From him we received the teaching, the spirit, the guidance, the daily help for many years, in many forms (UPS IV, 7).
Our soul bases its hope, its trust in You, in your promises, O Lord. The Christian people hope in You, O Lord, always, to avoid sin and to obtain forgiveness of debts contracted with You, knowing that there is mercy with You (RSP 275).
You, O Jesus, not only told us to take up the cross, but to follow you (cf. Luke 9:23), because your life does not end in the tomb, but in the Ascension, on the day that no longer has end. Created, redeemed, sanctified for Paradise! “In hope we were saved” (Rm 8:24) (Mihi vivere Christ usest, 28).
I am not looking for children who talk about ecstasy and similar things, but who know how to say: “The Lord asked me this, here I am, I am ready.” Do not be so abstract as someone who, by always looking at the stars, ends up falling into the well (FSP32*, 296).
The more reserved, meditative, recollected, industrious one becomes, the more effective one becomes... what a beautiful continuous exercise of virtue, what edification they bring wherever they are found! (FSP31*, 96).
When there is active love, examination of conscience, the practice of virtues, even the exterior appears beautiful, and the words of the reflective souls are wise, they do not make a fuss; every word is well meditated. They succeed well in everything (FSP31*, 97).
We must meditate deeply on the things of God to acquire internal virtues: more concentration, bending the will more; more humility of heart and meekness (FSP31*, 96).
There are some who are all exteriority and give themselves to God like this. There are others who do not appear in anything, but have a simplicity, an obedience, a love of God that inspires (FSP31*, 95).
May Jesus attract us with his goodness, so that we only want his will. May Christian hope always shine within us (RSP 344).
There is no middle ground. Either we will kill the passions or they will kill our peace, our happiness, our luck on earth (FSP31*, 208-209).
The soul that lives the inner life intensely, first of all takes care of the examination of conscience, looks inside... secondly has pure love and exact ideas. Finally, his works ... are full of zeal ... of charity, of continuous attention (FSP31*, 95-96).
Hope, that is, I have no merit, I take the merits of Jesus Christ for the mercy, for the hope, for the goodness of God and for the sufferings of Jesus Christ on the cross (APD66, 68).
The act of hope: hope to live in Christ and with Christ through his grace, his mercy, his blood shed on the cross for us. The participation therefore of the merits of Jesus Christ for us (APD66, 131).
One who always invokes mercy; whoever has to command, does it for the love of God, whoever has to obey does it for the Lord, whoever really wants to become a saint and is candid and sincere and really loves the cross, this will be great in the kingdom of heaven (FSP31*, 169).
Here is the apostle soul! She considered heaven and fell in love with it. She meditated on the passion of Jesus Christ, she meditated on the most holy Eucharist, she meditated on the very new things and she decided: I want to become a saint, soon a saint, a great saint (FSP31*, 145)
The malevolence and disapproval that come to you from men are not misfortunes... Sin is the true evil! Everything else: disapproval, spite, persecution, etc., can be used for Paradise... Real evil is the offense of God (FSP31*, 235-236).
What sweetest confidences and intimacies Jesus has and the pure soul that unites with him in Holy Communion! Let us give our heart, life, soul to Jesus (FSP30*, 68).
Mary cooperated at Calvary: offering her Son and her own suffering for the salvation of all. She cooperated in the beginnings of the Church: in the Cenacle she supported the hope of the Apostles (UPS III, 183).
The resurrection of Jesus Christ is a figure and grace for our resurrection, it is the model of our resurrection. Jesus leaves the tomb and we must leave the tomb of sins and defects (FSP32*, 291).
Tell us, Mary, what did you see on the way? – I saw the tomb of the living Christ and the glory of him risen. – The witnessing Angels, the shroud and the robes. – Christ, my hope, has risen: he will precede you in Galilee” (San Paolo, aprile 1952, p. 2; cf CISP 693).
The apostle soul is not a soul that loves exteriority, it is a soul that has purified and filled its own heart and wants to purify and fill the hearts of others with blessings and celestial graces (FSP31*, 99).
There are two main dispositions: humility and confidence. Humility on our part and confidence in God’s mercy (FSP31*, 141).
The apostle soul is a soul that has meditated lengthy. It is a soul that has done like St. Paul, who withdrew for three years in the desert: there she meditated on holy things; she meditated on the life of Jesus, and was taught directly by Jesus Christ himself (FSP31*, 98).
The resurrecting of the body of Jesus Christ reminds us that we must hope for a new life, and that no one is so dead that he cannot be resurrected, and that no matter how stained our soul, how stubborn our passions and habits, no one can despair (FSP32*, 292).
We are resurrected in Christ and this means that we must have new thoughts in our minds, aspirations to heaven, to eternity, to that day in which the angel will order everyone to be resurrected (FSP32*, 291).
We, contemplating this Jesus, feel our hearts burning with enthusiasm and faith, like the disciples of Emmaus one day: “Didn’t we feel our hearts burning while he spoke to us along the way?” (FSP32*, 290-291).
The apostle soul is that soul that loves the Lord, knows the Lord, preaches the Lord, knows his attributes, knows his rights as Creator, Redeemer and Sanctifier (FSP31*, 98).
Through the press we will have been the truth for that soul. With the help of our prayers, with our good life, we will be the way for that soul and, through the mercy that the Lord will show her, saving her, we will be her life (FSP31*, 161).
The apostle soul wants the glory of God and the peace of men, that is, their good as much as is possible on this earth, but essentially, firmly, and I would like to say inexorably, their eternal good: Paradise (FSP31*, 99).
The apostle soul would to leaThe apostle soul would to leave the house, go through the streets, through the cities, on the beaches, on the mountains, in the caves; she would like to go to Africa, America, Asia, Oceania, and be able to say to everyone: O men, God awaits you in heaven. Save yourselves! Save yourselves! (FSP31*, 100).
