DAILY WORD of BLESSED JAMES ALBERIONE 2024

To commemorate the 50th anniversary of the death of our founder, Blessed James Alberione, we will reflect on his words and use them as our daily guide.

PRAYER INTENTION for OCTOBER

O Jesus Master, I love you with all my heart and above all things, O life of my soul; O supreme and eternal good; O love and eternal joy of all the Blessed. Inflame in me a more ardent charity. Grant me to love your holy commandments, and may I never again separate myself from you (PR 82).

My Guardian Angel, let me know more and more that I am created for God and that He is the highest and only Good and my eternal happiness. Communicate to me the supreme wisdom of seeing myself a pilgrim on earth, ordering all of my life to heaven and in everything to seek first the kingdom of God and his justice (PR 229).

O Mary, let the light of the Gospel shine on the furthest ends of the world, defeat errors, gather all men around the chair of Peter. Enlighten doctors, preachers, writers, O Mother of Good Counsel, O Seat of Wisdom, O Queen of Saints (PR 159).

O Mary, obtain for me the grace to understand the value of souls... May each of us be fired up by the beauty of the Christian apostolate; may the charity of Christ compel us, may the spiritual miseries of poor humanity move us (PR 160).

O Mother, enlighten my mind, strengthen my will, sanctify my heart in this year of my spiritual work, so that I can profit from so much mercy, and can conclude in the end: “I live, no longer I, but Christ lives in me” (PR 171).

When one loves Jesus very much and prays to Our Lady a lot, the heart is formed well, on the Heart of Mary, the Immaculate Heart, the maternal Heart of Mary (APD56, 525).

O Mary, acquire for yourself the most beautiful glory, change a great sinner into a great saint, O refuge of sinners, O morning star, O comforter of the afflicted (PR 162).

O Mary, it is sweet to look first at you in the morning, to walk under your mantle during the day, to fall asleep under your gaze in the evening. You have smiles for innocent children, strength for struggling youth, light for working adulthood, comfort for old age that awaits heaven (PR 162).

O Mary, who by the title of Full of Grace given to you by God Himself... deign to pour on the world the grace that enlightens the blind, converts the impious, comforts the weak, spurs the cowardly, encourages the timid, strengthens the good, sustains the generous (PR 278).

Blessed be you, O my God; just as natural life comes from the mother, so supernatural life comes from Mary... Where Mary enters, Jesus will also enter. Whoever finds the Mother finds the Son. For Mary the way is safe and short. Jesus precedes us with the example: he became a son of Mary (PR 298).

The Bible saying that all men are brothers and children of the same father, inculcates charity in them; it teaches how the various classes of people must love and help each other... The Bible is still the source of all the apostolates that tend to the betterment of society (LS 183-184).

Since God is the creator of man, He knows well all the needs and requirements of human nature, and He being still the primary author of the Bible, He made that book to fully satisfy all the needs of human nature. We can therefore rightly call the Bible the Code of Humanity (LS 185).

The Press Apostolate should be considered as bread; therefore it should reach and feed all. A very special diffusion must be made of the Bible, which should be in the hands of all men, at least the part of the New Testament. Model oneself therefore on God in the whole Apostolate (LS 193).

The Bible is universal as to places, for everywhere it must reach; as to men, since God wants all men to know their end, as to content, since the subject is spiritual and eternal (LS 192).

The doctrine and purpose of the Press Apostolate is the same as that of the Bible... The true press apostolate must be modelled on God-Writer, that is, on the Holy Bible. Topic full of comfort, object of love, light that enlightens (LS 191).

The Sacred Scripture must be read with an ardent spirit... in order to penetrate and scrutinize its meaning. Also to read it with great love... The Bible is the letter of God, of our Heavenly Father; He gave it to us with the infinite love of a Father, and so we must read it with all the love of children (LS 199).

Send, O Jesus, your spirit that increase in us the virtues of faith, hope and charity. Infuse us with the true religious spirit, grant us the simplicity, prudence, fortitude, temperance of the Holy Apostles Peter and Paul (PR 148-149).

The sincerest act of love that can be done to Jesus Master is to go to his school and hear his divine teachings. You do not know what respect to offer? Read the Holy Bible. A long stretch is not necessary: most of the time a few verses are enough to nourish the soul, to inflame it with love (LS 200).

O Jesus, Divine Master, Model of all holiness, who said: “I am the Way,” we thank you for the holy examples of charity, obedience, unsullied purity that you have given us through your servant Fr Timothy Giaccardo (PR 139).

Remain familiar with Jesus. And let us represent ourselves as poor, in front of him, because we are so poor, we have so much need of grace, we are so ignorant; we have a heart that is often disoriented... May Jesus heal this heart (APD56, 639).

O Master, replace my heart with yours: my love for God, for my neighbour, for myself replace with yours... Live in me, O Jesus eternal Life, substantial life (PR 119).

O Master, You have the words of eternal life: substitute Yourself for my mind, for my thoughts... “Live in my mind, O Jesus truth” (PR 118).

How much progress in the way of perfection are made by those who, in all their practices of piety, use the Holy Bible! It gives strength and courage to overcome all the difficulties of life; enlightens doubts and uncertainties. It – as St Augustine says – “leads to God, invites us to love him, enlightens hearts...” (LS 201-202).

“Preach the Gospel to every creature: baptize them in the name of the Father, of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.” Here are the Missions. And as the Apostles started from the feet of Jesus... so all the Apostles and all the Missionaries of the following centuries, start from the feet of the Vicar of Jesus Christ, the Pope (Predicheinedite, 1933, 97).

Jesus, Divine Master, we adore you as the Only Begottenof God, who came into the world to give Life to men, and Life more abundantly (PR 122).

Live in us, O Jesus, with the outpouring of the Holy Spirit, so that we can love you with all our mind, all our strength, all our heart; and to love our neighbour as ourselves for love of you (PR 122).

O Master, your life is principle, way, unique, true, infallible security. From the Crib, from Nazareth, from Calvary it is all about tracing the divine way... Establish your will in place of my will (PR 119).

Jesus, Divine Master, we adore you as the Incarnate Word, sent by the Father to teach men in the truths that give life. You are the uncreated Truth, the only Master; you alone have the words of eternal life (PR 120).

Jesus, Divine Master, we adore you as the Beloved of the Father, the only Way to go to him. We thank you because you have made yourself our model; you have left examples of the highest perfection; you invited men to follow you on earth and in heaven (PR 121).

Master, show us the treasures of your wisdom, let us know the Father, make us your true disciples. Increase our faith, so that we can attain the eternal vision in heaven (PR 121).

Jesus, draw us to you, because, walking in your footsteps and renouncing ourselves, we seek only your will. Increase in us active hope and the desire to be found similar to you in the judgment and to possess you forever in heaven (PR 121)
